Driver admits to causing death of cyclist

Frank Mugisha died from his injuries after the collision
THE driver responsible for the death of Enfield cyclist Frank Mugisha last year has received a suspended prison sentence.
Jonathan Baird, 63, of Chingford Green, Waltham Forest, was given a six-month suspended jail term and told he must do 150 hours of community work after pleading guilty to death by careless or inconsiderate driving when he appeared at Wood Green Crown Court on January 25.
He was also disqualified from driving for three years.
Father of four Mr Mugisha, 41, a sports coach of Hoe Lane, suffered multiple injuries when Mr Baird's vehicle hit him as he cycled along the Great Cambridge Road near the junction with White Hart Lane, Tottenham, on March 27.
He died as a result of his injuries on April 2 at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, east London.
